Addiel Lopez has spent three decades on the building side of American connectivity, rising from network engineer to founder and chief executive. His career began in the engine rooms of the early internet — Dialtone Internet, Innerhost, and Interland — before leading network engineering as a Director at Level 3 Communications, one of the backbone carriers of the modern internet. Along the way he has led global teams of more than 100 people and managed P&L for divisions exceeding $50 million in annual revenue.
As Founder and CEO of Sling Broadband, he grew the company from inception to 2.2 million customers across 27 markets, making it the fastest-growing ISP from 2007 to 2012. He pioneered the deployment of VoIP over fixed-wireless networks, served on the founding team of Sling TV, and was first to deliver IPTV over 3G and fixed wireless. Sling Broadband became the connectivity partner for Super Bowl XLIV, the U.S. State Department, DHS, FEMA, the NFL Players Association, the arenas of the Miami Heat, Miami Dolphins, and New York Giants, and citywide networks including Miami Beach and Philadelphia Wi-Fi.
He went on to found Skybridge Wireless and today also serves as Chief Executive Officer of Quantinium, Inc. Standard is the culmination of that operating history: an institutional consolidator built on the conviction that North American broadband's thousands of subscale, owner-operated networks deserve a permanent home. He leads the firm's investment strategy, acquisition program, and operating playbooks on principles of permanence over quick exits, operating excellence as the source of returns, and alignment with investors, sellers, and the communities its networks serve.
